But one thing I cant get over is how this comic works. How can the mice walk upright; along with knowing speech, having culture and making clothes weapons and armor. nut why do owls, snakes, and other animals seem to be just "mute predators" like they are just normal animals, yet live in a world with animals that have adopted a human-like culture? The animals are still so natural in design (as opposed to making them anthropomorphic) that its honestly jarring to see some animals have human characteristics and others have none. Or are the predatory animals just the "trolls" and "ogres" of this world? Do you have any idea on how it works?

All very valid questions! Unfortunately, I'm not sure. I haven't read enough of the books to really know the history and culture of the characters, so I'm definitely not qualified to give any legitimate answer. I'd assume from what I know that they are the intelligent life in their world and developed in place of humans. It's best to suspend disbelief and just enjoy the stories 😄
